Some climbers used to keep the climbing equipment back to storage rack after the climbs without cleaning it or clean randomly as some are skeptical about the cleaning agent would damaged the equipment especially soft gear like rope, harness and sling. Now this times in the pandemic COVID19, cleaning and disinfect the equipment right after every use would seem to be a good practice, especially those provide equipment rental.

we wrote in to 2 of international climbing equipment manufacturers Petzl and Black Diamond Equipment to find the answer of how to clean and disinfect the climbing equipment, received promptly reply. thumbs up and shout out to Petzl Malaysia - Allsports Safety Equipment for the informative reply! refer below links of recommendation from each manufacturer.
